Voicethread

Hi guys!

This week I am learning about this cool but different tool called voicethread. What this too is a collaborative tool that helps those that are registered to the site add images, documents, videos, voice comments, written comments about anything that interests them.  Here is a video by ConvergenceSolutions on Youtube to help better understand this tool:

It is kind of like Skype if you are aware of this tool but is more appropriate for educational purposes. Like the video explores: if you have started a voice recording or conference, you can also add the photo or document you are talking about and circle spots that you are focusing on in your discussion. Thus enabling people to visually follow what you are talking about. This is an efficient way to get your point across; and if others want to join in the conversation or comment there are many ways to do so such as: by telephone, by webcame, by microphone or my text. This is a great tool if you and other people live far from each other and need to converse! It is also a great way to voice opinions and give out information to others.

Voicethread and my PLE

I would add this collaborative tool within the communication part which is a subgroup of the collaborating and socializing section. The reason I would be adding it here is because voicethread is a method to be able to communicate with your coworkers or peers for educational purposes, work purposes or for fun. It could also be put under the practicing digital responsibility because you must learn to be respectful while conversing with other people, making sure not to exclude anyone for the comments. Also you are responsible for giving out the information and assuring that everyone understand the content being explored.

What do you think? Am I wrong in where I am putting this tool? If so where would you add it and why?
