Podcast

Hi guys!

So for this page I have created a brief podcast of this cool site I found out about: Teachertube. In the Podcast I go over what it is and how it is helpful in the digital world.
The main focus for this page is to talk about podcasts.

As K12learning20 puts it: “a podcast is sort of like an online show [where] listeners get to decide when and where they want to listen”.  These are voice recording of people talking about things that interest them, that they are concerned about and other matters.

Podcast and my digital learning
Podcasts enable me to voice my opinions! It is helpful for me because I am not a create writer so verbally voicing my thoughts makes voicing my thoughts a lot easier. This is a great communication tool because like other tools such as Wiki, anyone can see or hear it and anyone can comment on it. It is an easy way to build your PLN by just saying what is on your mind and by others potentially agreeing with you. This tool also enables digital literacy because you are able to create content then share it with others via that tool or twitter or Instagram or Facebook or other social media outlets.

One thing to know about this is that you have the responsibility to share appropriate content. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but we must do so in a polite mannerism as too not offend or upset others. In saying that, digital etiquette is essential to podcasting.  If you do not want people hearing your content well that is no problem! For most podcasting sites they give you an option to make your recording private or public. If you feel that your content might offend some people maybe make it private, but if you feel like your content should be heard by all and will not upset others, feel free to make it public!

Podcasting sites

My favourite site and the easiest to use is soundcloud. You can also use RecordMP3 but I found it not to work as well. Before you try to make a podcast make sure you have a voice recorder and Flash installed to your computer. Worst things is you have an idea you want to share with the world but can’t because you don’t have a microphone!

Well that is all for this post.

Cheers.
